Hamburg has more to offer than the Elbe or Elphie.
Namely: food! From the field to the plate, we want to bundle, network and revolutionize the Hanseatic city's food system under the food bell of sustainability.

So, together with Green Events Hamburg, Greentable and Fairtrade Stadt Hamburg, we have developed ideas, solutions and support to take a step towards sustainability. The aim is to prove that regional solutions can also meet ecological, social and economic challenges.

This is a growing process. And this is exactly how we at Open Mouth want to develop together with everyone involved and make our society a little more sustainable, bite by bite. Here are our 6 action bites:

01 - MISSION STATEMENT
We want to put Hamburg back on the map of the food world: At our decentralized food festival, we bring together regional growers, producers, restaurateurs and hungry locals as well as tourists. For information, activities, food and drink from the field to the plate. And all of this under the food bell of sustainability.

02 - OPEN HOUSE
Cooperation with Green Events Hamburg. Materiality analysis of 500 criteria from the guidelines. Joint development of 20 requirements, 15 of which are mandatory.

03 - DECENTRALIZED EVENTS AND CAMPAIGNS
We bundle numerous campaigns, events and offers from partners under the umbrella of OPEN MOUTH. These all correspond to our claim and mission statement. More precisely: Each participant must fulfill at least four of ten (sustainability) criteria that we have defined with Green Events Hamburg (project of the Green Economic Council e.V.).

04 - GOOD ACTION
All participating restaurateurs offer their own good action exclusively for the OPEN MOUTH Hamburg Food Festival. Here, too, they always adhere to at least four sustainable criteria. More, of course.

05 - DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL SUPPLY STRUCTURES
We want to help make it easier to source organic raw materials from the region. Here we cooperate with Regionalwert AG for a regional supply structure. Fair trade goods from the Global South should also find their way more easily into regional gastronomy.

06 - EDUCATIONAL OFFERS FOR SOCIETY
The food world of tomorrow will not only take place on the tongue or in the kitchen, but also in the mind. That's why we want to raise society's awareness for more sustainability in the production and consumption of food. Communication, exchange and lectures provide the necessary food for the brain.
